Overburden can be a big issue on a mining property.  It can cover a large portion of a site’s property and even worse, make it impossible to access valuable reserves.  In addition to these issues, there are costs associated with removing, hauling, dumping, and disposing of this material.  In some cases, there may be enough rock in the overburden that customers can still find sales for this product.  However, processing this material may become a challenge since there is cost in converting a plant over to process the overburden without spoiling the existing inventory stockpiles.

NorX’s portable track or wheeled plants are able to be set up closet to the overburden pile and far from the existing plant.  The small footprint and large capacity of these plants can turn your spoil pile into a pile of product without causing any disruption to your current operation.  This will aid in getting the material off your property and uncovering your reserves.  However, it can also add an auxiliary source of revenue to your plant’s bottom line.

Sometimes the remainder of reserves in a maturing quarry are located directly underneath the processing plant.  When getting close to the end of a quarry’s life you are inevitably going to “back yourself into a corner”.  At this point, the quarry owner and operator will have to relocate the existing plant to gain access to the reserves and either buy a new plant or re-utilize the old one.  Doing this yourself will be costly and often it’s hard to justify the capital spent for those remaining reserves.  NorX is here to help you bridge the gap.

Regardless of your specific needs for Contract Crushing, we can often propose a Build, Operate, and Transfer option.  In many cases, our Contract Crushing division will build a plant, operate it for a few years, and then transfer the plant over to the customer we are contracted with.  In these instances, the customer can get all the benefits provided by NorX’s Contract Crushing services and then take over the operations themselves.  Often this is at a reduced price in comparison to buying it outright from the beginning.  The customer will also have NorX employees who are able to train the new crew on the plant’s maintenance requirements and operations.
