Contract Crushing, or as some people call it “Custom Crushing”, is a service that has solved many problems for aggregate producers over the past multiple decades. Whether it is opening a greenfield site, gaining added salable inventory through supplemental crushing, recycling asphalt or concrete, or the myriad of other needs, Mellott has implemented many solutions for customers utilizing Contract Crushing. In fact, Contract Crushing has been the heart and soul of our organization since the 1970s. We’ve partnered with small family-owned operations, we’ve helped build aggregate producer empires, and everything in between. Mellott’s contract crushing division has reached an unparalleled level of excellence in providing solutions to our producer customers in areas such as:

What Are Ultra Fine Recovery Systems?

Ultra Fines Recovery systems, or UFRs, are made to capture small particles that are released during aggregate production. UFRs are a crucial part of producing aggregates, as they ensure a quality final product.

How Ultra Fine Recovery Systems Work?

Ultra Fine Recovery systems are easy to assembly and setup quickly and efficiently and also boast simple maintenance. They can be configured to fit any operation.

UFRs use multiple screens to separate small and large particles. Feed from the plant’s waste stream enters into the sump, and a control valve uses plant overflow water to maintain the level of the sump. When pumped to one or more hydrocyclones, slurry can be dewatered and recovered material will be sent to the underflow or used to balance the level of the sump. A stackable and conveyable dewatering screen  is available to further dewater hydrocyclone underflow and remove any solids or liquids that can be recirculated for recovery.

Benefits Of UFRs For Aggregate Producers

UFRs offer several benefits for aggregate producers. These include:

Permitting Requirements

Some projects need to adhere to very restrictive environmental and recycling policies, UFRs can help you reduce the total load of solids which becomes beneficial if you have limited land resources and need to reduce solids reported.

Reduce Wear and Tear

Second, UFRs can reduce the wear and tear on your crushing equipment. Small particles can cause significant wear and tear on machinery, leading to expensive repairs or the need for replacement parts. UFRs help to reduce this wear and tear through the reduction of harmful solids, which will save significant funds in the long term.

Repurpose Waste Materials

Third, UFRs can help to produce a solid product that is able to be reused by aggregate producers. This material can then be resold or repurposed for a different use.

NorX UFRs

Ultra Fine Recovery systems play a crucial part in producing aggregates. UFRs help producers recover valuable materials that would otherwise be lost in the aggregate production process while also producing standalone materials. UFRs also help create a higher quality product and reducing emissions and energy consumption. UFRs are an important part of aggregate production and provide many benefits to producers.

Our line of UFRs offers quality features that can help you:

  • Reduce operational costs
  • Create sellable product from waste
  • Recover the maximum amount of fine materials
  • Increase your profit margin
