The most important factor in selecting wear protection is to choose the right material for the specific application.  There are a number of materials that can be used for wear prevention in rock crushing equipment. Some of the most common include:

Manganese

Designed to be applied as a coating to wear surfaces, these alloys are typically composed of high-quality steels and are available in a variety of different grades to suit different applications.  NorX’s team of Application Engineers are armed with the latest technology to determine the right liner profile and metallurgy to suit your crusher’s needs.

Once we have determined the best profile for your crusher, we can help to supply those liners.  NorX offers aftermarket and OEM manganese wear liners.  These liners fit Metso, Eagle, Lippman, Superior, Cedarapids, JCI, KPI, Telsmith, Sandvik, Pegson, Extec, and more.  The vast majority of our mantles, bowl liners, jaw dies, blow bars, concaves, anvils, and shoes are available in 11-14%, 18%, and 22% alloys.

Screen Media

Polyurethane provides superb wear life.  It also has noise reduction capabilities, is flexible to prevent blinding and pegging, and is easy to install.  Polyurethane proves to be one of the safest media options out there.  Wire mesh and rubber media are also options.

NorX offers an array of some of the industry’s most popular, safe, high quality and environmentally friendly products.  Reduce risk and minimize exposure by selecting polyurethane, rubber, and wire screen media.  Polyurethane options vary from magnetic opencast polyurethane panels to hammerless injection molded polyurethane 1×1 panels.

Wear Protection Liners

Offering good protection against both abrasive and impact damage, polyurethane liners are another versatile option for wear prevention.  NorX offers a variety of liners for any area where materials flow.  Our options include Chute Liners, Magnetic Liners, Pan Feed Liners, Cross Member Protections, Curved Application, and more.

Tips For Minimizing Wear

It is important to take preventative measures to protect your equipment from wear and tear.  Here are a few things you can do:

Make sure that the equipment being used is the right size for the job.  Equipment that is too big or too small will put unnecessary stress on the machinery.

Proper maintenance and lubrication are essential.  This includes managing the amount of debris, as well as maintaining adequate oil levels.

Operators should be aware of how to use the equipment to maximize it’s efficiency.  Knowing when to replace the manganese can not only save downtime, but also money.  Replacing wear products sooner rather than later is key.
