What Are Dewatering Screens?
Dewatering screens are used to separate water from material. The material is passed through a screen that has small openings. Counter-rotating motors work efficiently to remove any and all liquids from the mixture by propelling material upwards. These screens aid in producing a consistent product that is free of liquid which can be detrimental to equipment used later in processing aggregate mixtures.
Dewatering screens are commonly used in the mining industry but can be used for a variety of applications. These screens can help reduce the amount of water that needs to be treated by filtering ore before it is sent to the mill.

How Do They Work?
Some dewatering screens use two counter-rotating vibrating motors, while others use twin eccentric shafts. Dewatering screens also employ multiple mechanical exciters on larger machines that are mounted on a stressed relived bridge. Typically, the drive component is set up with an inclined deck that may be set anywhere from three to five degrees.
Dewatering screens are able to reduce the water content of slurries by draining them through a series of vibrating screens. The slurry moves down a declined, steeply screened surface, which allows water to drain from the mixture. This creates a pool in the valley. As the slurry moves through the system, additional water separates from the solution as it is taken back up an incline. Using a rinsing station along the pathway can aid in producing an even more refined product.

Are There Benefits To Using A Dewatering Screen?
Dewatering screens offer a variety of benefits:

Improved Efficiency
They remove liquids quickly and easily according to your specific project demands. This increases the overall efficiency of your processes.
Liquid Waste Reduction
Less waste is produced when a dewatering screen is used. The efficiency of the treatment processes is improved and the number of pollutants that are released into the environment is reduced.
Equipment Protection
Liquids can cause damage to your equipment. One of the most important uses of a dewatering system is to protect your equipment from being worn down by exposure to liquids.
